Summary
Multi-session fall Learning Garden programs for ages 6-13. Autumn is the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors! From cooking delicious food, to harvesting our fall crops to caring for the Waltham Fields' chickens, there's so much to do! Our Learning Garden Programs enable hands-on learning about natural ecosystems, crop production and the farm environment, nutrition and food choices, and group cooperation. Children participate in a range of activities such as planting vegetables, exploring the compost pile, observing wildlife, playing games, and cooking. We focus on Farm-to-Table programming, providing opportunities for participants to make and try healthful, farm fresh snacks in the solar powered kitchen of our outdoor classroom.
Description
After School Garden Explorers for ages 5-13
Six 1.5-hour long sessions, Wednesdays 3:30-5:00pm. $110
Enjoy the fall harvest season, by exploring the farm with hands-on farming projects, cooking healthy snacks andgrowing veggies, caring for our chickens and learning about the natural environment.
Please Note: All sessions take place outdoors, rain or shine! Please wear closed-toed shoes, bring sun protection (sunscreen, a hat), a reusable water bottle, and rain gear if necessary.
