Sign up your family to hang out with our family of wool producing English Angora rabbits on the farm! If you have been curious about these intelligent, friendly fuzzballs, here's your chance to get up-close and personal with the bunnies and spend some time together in the fresh air on the farm!
Participants will meet in family groups (parents/caregivers and children are expected to attend together) and enjoy the autumn energy of the farm and the bunnies. We will interact with the rabbits, learn to groom, train, and care for these special wool-producing animals in playful ways through games and activities. Discover the complex global history and impact of their especially soft, warm, sought-after wool. Experience the many ways we use their fiber to make felt, spin yarn, and create functional and decorative projects from the wool we humanely harvest with the guidance of our Learning Garden Educators.
Opportunities to adopt or foster a rabbit through Fiber Rabbit Adventures Rabbitry are available for interested families who successfully complete this program together.
Please review the Participants Preparation Pages shared with registrants leading up to the first day of the program for the most comfortable experience.
Opportunities for Rabbit Ambassadors to participate as volunteers at Farm Day (10/14/2023)
A NOTE TO ALL REGISTRANTS: During this time of limited access to the Learning Garden area of 240 Beaver Street, the farmers have cleared a space in the farm rows for our community of learners! Our new Ed Shed and Microfield are located on the opposite side of the farm from the Learning Garden. You can find our programs there!
Please be aware that during this time of uncertainty, program schedules are subject to change. In the event that a program is forced to cancel due to limited access, all registrantants affected by such a closure will be refunded. More information regarding WFCF's Refund Policy can be found ON THIS PAGE (scroll to the bottom). More information regarding WFCF access to farmed-land at 240 Beaver Street, impact on programs and actions the community can take to show support can be found HERE.
WFCF Education Programs continue to offer a variety of experiential, project-based adventures for learners of all ages, exploring agriculture, gardening, nature, culinary arts, sustainable homesteading, foraging, and science-based programs through hands-on experiences.
